Master Closet Reveal with Tailored Living

October 3, 2019 / Lifestyle

Sponsored by Tailored Living

Newlyweds here! We are so excited to start our lives together in our recently purchased

townhome in Charlotte, NC. We have so much more space than our previous one

bedroom apartment, but when merging two lives into one, storage and closet space can

be tricky. Our master closet in our new home was fairly spacious but not built to

accommodate the amount of shoes and clothing we had. For us, a walk in closet without

an organizational storage system turned into a chaotic nightmare. Unplanned space is

always underutilized space. We are fortunate to have a nice large master closet but with

the standard shelving it was hard to maximize functionality.

Then we found Tailored Living!

Tailored Living builds custom whole-home storage and organization solutions to fit and

simplify busy lives. It all starts with a complimentary in home visit. During this initial

consultation, the Tailored Living designers brought the showroom to us. They took the

time to understand our needs, and took detailed measurements of our space. Through

this consultation, we were able to visualize the potential we had in our closet. For

example, we had an oversized dresser that we shared that was taking up too much of

the space. They showed us that by installing a taller, custom designed built-in dresser,

we could organize our things in a “his and hers” way and also create more space in that

area of the closet. Built-in shelves above the dresser provided even more! When it

comes to shoes, a girl can never have too many, until you have to find somewhere to

put them, along with your husband’s. Tailored Living had the solution. The shoe rack we

designed with them gave us more than enough space to shelve and declutter our

shoes. You never realize how much space you’re wasting in your closet until you have

the pros come show you!

Tailored Living helped us design the ultimate closet in the style, finish and color to truly

make it our own. During our free in-home consultation, our local Tailored Living designer

used their 3D design software to create our custom closet. In real time we were able to

see our design come to life. Modifications were easy to make instantly, and colors and

finishes were switched until it was just right. Tailored Living’s custom closet organization

systems use a combination of hanging rods, cabinets, drawers, adjustable shelves, and

closet accessories like decorative hooks, and specialty racks, so every closet is efficient

and customized to your lifestyle. With a variety of finishes, colors and hardware, you

can go as simple, elegant or funky as you wish, but always but always with the goal of maximum functionality.

We decided to keep the design as light and bright as possible with touches of

brushed gold for hardware for a more polished and sophisticated look. To contrast

against the white, we chose a soft gray backing to give them a more dimensional look.

A few of our favorite features included pull-out tie and belt racks, soft-close drawers and

the valet rack, which makes choosing what to pack for that next trip so much easier!

Installation was scheduled around our busy lifestyle and finished within two days! The

designers and installers are trained professionals who take pride in giving you the best

service possible from taking exact measurements and providing a creative design to the

final installation and clean up. Start to finish, it was a seamless process with life long

benefits!

We couldn’t be happier with our custom Tailored Living Closet! A new start to a

beautifully organized life!

Your new closet is incredible!! So much space for both him and her. I currently have a fairly small apartment closet but this is inspiring me to possibly reorganize mine!

OMG , I love the transformation of the closet! It looks so clean and organized! We are still trying to come up with a master closet layout for our home. It is true, emerging two in one is so hard. My husband thinks that they closet should be half and half, although I have way more clothes and the other half of his closet is completely empty, lol!Men. Anyway, thanks for sharing this idea it helps me get ideas for own space!
