Athens was the city we flew in and out of traveling to Oia so we spent a few days exploring in the city. Athens was the typical city feel, big bus tour guides going on and everyday people hustling to and from work. Settled above the city was is the Acropolis, as known as Greece’s great marvel. We made the hike up one evening just before a a big storm was about to hit. I was blown away by the beauty of this place, not to mention the sun was setting so the light was truly stunning. If you are making your way to the greek islands, I highly recommend spending at least a day or two exploring Athens.
The sites from high above the city are one for the books.

Any recommendations on where to stay in Athens? Thanks!
Hi Jennifer! We stayed at the King George! It was amazing and walking distance to all the highlights of the city.
The Acropolis is a real wonder!
