Let’s talk Fitness!
Let me start off by saying I’m not a fitness expert nor do I claim to know more than the girl next to me on the treadmill. I’m just simply sharing what works for me and my body. I would also like to go ahead and throw it out there that I’m blessed with a HIGH metabolism and yes, I eat shitty food and drink often so insert the eye roll, I totally get it.
For me, in this current age and time in my life, is my workout routine:
Running
I enjoying running more than any other form of exercise. Blasting a good playlist and silencing outside distractions is an addiction that I’m into. It’s not only great for your fitness but it’s the best way for me to clear my head and release energy. Whether that’s frustration, anxiety or anything the day can bring. I don’t run super fast or for very long but I try to run at least one mile as many days a week as I can. If I’m feeling it, I run longer. I prefer to run on a treadmill but now with the nice weather I’m trying to run outdoors as often as possible.
Weighted Squats
Who doesn’t want an apple booty?! I’m a big fan of small bikini bottoms and in order to pull those off you kinda need to work on that a$$, ya know?! After I’m done running I stretch then grab a weighted medicine ball and squat it out. I do four reps of 25, a total of 100 squats. Do this a few times a week and you will certainly start to see some great results. Hey Miss New Booty!
Push Ups
I start with doing as many full body push up’s as I can then I cave and switch to finishing the rest from my knees. I try to push myself each week to do more the week before. I’m a competitive girl so it’s an easy way to push myself harder and harder each week. I typically do four sets of 20, a total of 80 push ups.
Sit Ups
Kinda of the same deal with the push ups, I rotate two styles of sit ups. The standard lower body sit up, focusing on lifting my shoulders off the ground. I also do V sit ups where I lift both my arms and legs to create a V shape with my body. I do four sets of 25, a total of 100 sit ups.
As far as workouts go that’s honestly all I really do, it’s quick, easy and simple as that. I certainly enjoy attending workout classes but it’s nice to have this simple routine that I can fit into my day even if it’s from my living room. And did you notice no heavy equipment needed! It’s a win win if you ask me.
Food
Bagel Bites whaaaaa! If you follow me you prob know my love for bagel bites is real, I mean how can you not like them?! As much as I do enjoy my share of junk food I try to maintain a healthy balance. If I don’t keep shit food in my house I can’t eat it, it’s pretty simple. If I have a fridge full of Dr. Pepper, Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream (which I just discovered, holy shizzz it’s SO good) and endless amounts of other yummy fatting goodies, I will crush it, all of it! With that said, I let myself have that kind of food when I really crave it, but not making it a daily or even a weekly habit. Instead I keep plenty of water, yogurt, trail mix, apples & peanut butter and salads around my house for snacks. I’ve also started making fruit/protein shakes which is a great lunch substitute. I eat a regular meal for dinner, some sort of protein (gimmie all the meat!) and a vegetable or two. Drinking hot tea at night is a good way to kick a late night sugar addiction too!
As far as alcohol goes, I could do better with my life. But the sun starts shinning and I’m a social girl, and well…I drink well with others. Let me live!!
Everyone knows you workout better when you look cute, how fun are these options:

Running is my favorite workout too. Last year, I started adding in push-ups (which I hate), but LOVE what they do for my upper body 🙂 It’s always great to know how others approach fitness. Thanks for sharing!

Getting cute workout clothes always gives me motivation! I do a series of weight lifting exercises but I too drink well with others. It’s a battle!

This is the cutest workout look! When I do get to the gym, I prefer classes just because I feel more motivated that way haha. I feel ya on the not being able to resist if you have a fridge full of junk bit.

Prepping for my wedding this summer (and just general overall health) I’ve been really dedicated to my fitness routine. I really enjoy seeing what other women do to release stress and stay in shape. Like you I LOVE to run on the treadmill (I listen to podcasts and audiobooks).
