Let’s Go Everywhere

Years ago, travel logistics used to be uncertain and costly; however, times have changed. Why? One word: Uber. As you all know, I love to travel and Uber has become a staple of my transportation. Whether I’m on the ‘road’ by myself or with company, day or night, West Coast or East Coast, I trust Uber driver-partners to get me from point A to B, C, and D, in comfort and safety. It’s also tough to beat their convenience, which negates parking problems and fees in major cities. All of this you’re well aware of.

I’d like to highlight the element that stands out to me the most and adds to my travel experience every time: the driver-partners. In nearly every ride, I learned something new, been exposed to a new culture, shared stories, garnered advice, or laughed together. I love getting to know the person behind the process and am excited to share my story with San Diego Uber driver-partner, Justine!

Justine wears many hats: she is an adventure seeker, crafter, full-time student, gypsy jazz band singer, and an Uber driver-partner. After our introduction, I knew this was the type of girl I could call a friend. I loved her confidence and positive outlook on life, not only is this girl super friendly and outgoing, but she’s also one very talented jewelry maker with a unique premise. Her business is called “Friendly Feathers.” Justine prides herself on building relationships with local organizations such as the San Diego Zoo where she collects feathers and repurposes them as jewelry for others to enjoy.

She described to me that Uber provides her with the stability to pursue her endeavors/adventures. In addition, she loves that Uber allows her to create her own schedule and facilitates a life where she can be spontaneous and mobile. Her example reminded me of so many others I’ve met along the way that are independent, flexible, ambitious, fun, and creating a life they love. We can all learn from one another and embrace these positive qualities, which are uplifting and motivational. Whatever seat you’re in, wherever you are, there’s a lot to discover!
