Layering for the Indecisive Weather in the Springtime
It is that beautiful time of year where winter is finally starting to closer her cold winter doors and spring is starting to shine through. If you live in a place like I do in Charlotte, North Carolina, the weather changes seasons daily in one week! It can be hard to plan for your outfits in the morning when it’s chilly in the morning, beautifully warm by the afternoon, but early evening starts to cool back down. When it comes to getting ready during these months, I have a few staple pieces that I keep on deck to ensure comfort, but also style throughout the entire day.
1. Parkas
Light parka jackets overtop a blouse is the perfect edition to any outfit, especially if the weather is being moody! I love everything pink…and this blush tone parka is no exception. Having a parka with a hood is key if it starts to rain down in the middle of the day too!
2. Suede Jackets
A piece in my wardrobe that is a must have for beautiful, potentially mostly sunny spring days are suede jackets. They are comfortable, easy to dress up or stay casual, and help you look more put together (which is something I’m always striving for– outfits that look great with little effort)! Throw a tank top or light cotton t-shirt under a suede jacket and you’re good to go for the rest of the day.
3. Cardigan + Tank Tops
Have you ever looked at the weather on your phone and saw that the day was just going to be all over the place? The easiest solution, pairing tank tops with a cardigan. This is a solution that is bound to look and feel comfortable. This is perfect for varying temperatures from coffee shops, to being outside, or just running errands.
4. Flowy Long-Sleeve Tops
The easiest to manage tops when the weather ranges all day. These tops are also perfect for to transition from work to drinks and dinner later on in the evening! I love this bright green tank top, such a bold color and you’ll stand out for all the right reasons. The material is breathable and stretchy, allowing you to not get too hot if it is a bit warmer than yo expected outside. As for the blush tone tank top, a cold shoulder top is the way to go throughout the springtime in general. This is a simple, dainty option to have in your wardrobe! If it gets a little chilly, throw a suede jacket on top and you have a perfect pair.
5. Jumpsuits
Are you headed to hit up the town and you want to make a statement in something other than a dress? Jumpsuits are the way to go. This bright, flirty red jumpsuit is an absolute favorite and makes that bold statement. Jumpsuits are daring to wear but the confidence you gain from it is indescribable!
If you’re lucky to call a beautiful place like Charlotte, North Carolina home, then you know the indecisive weather that comes with it. These pieces are bound to help you when you’re feeling rushed or just having a morning of “I don’t know what to wear!”. Even if the Groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter, I’m thinking it as six more weeks of “maybe if I dress for spring, maybe it’ll come sooner?”
Hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I do.
Xoxo,
McKenna

Such good tips for this time of year! I remember from my college years how weird it was to dress in Charlotte in February/March. I miss those beautiful blossoming trees that are everywhere in the city!

You have the most amazing wardrobe! Right now I have no clue how to dress considering one day it was 72 and then the next we got 4 inches of snow. Spring can’t come soon enough!
