Scottsdale,AZ

June 8, 2017 / travel, USA

Jumping  back over to my trip to Scottsdale, AZ! This was my first time to visiting Scottsdale, I’ve driven through Arizona a few times but never had the chance to stay and experience all of it’s wonder. Apparently everyone else and there mom knew how amazing Scottsdale was and somehow I missed that memo, needless to say it did not disappoint!

What’s better than a girls weekend away? I was excited to travel with a few of my blogger girls, Danielle and Grace. We arrived at the W Scottsdale pretty early in the morning. I love how modern and trendy W properties are, plus you can’t beat Bliss complimentary products right?! To start off our weekend we all enjoyed a nice spa service. I switched my usually massage appointment for a much needed facial, it was nice to give my skin a little extra TLC and hydration.
After lunch we spent the day relaxing at the W Scottsdale pool. Great music, cold cocktails and shading under the cabanas was a pretty solid day in my book. I think we brought the heat with us because it was well over 100 degrees, even this girl had to jump in the pool to cool off.
We had a fun night planned, our first stop at Aridus Wine Tasting Room. I was in my natural habitat here to say the least. I’m typically always a Cab kind of girl and so I was pleasantly surprised to find out at Aridus Wine Company their cabernet sauvignon’s are more on the lighter side rather than rich and hearty types. It was still amazing but I have to admit the rose was probably my favorite.

After dinner we jumped back over to Sushi Roku, which is conveniently located at the W Scottsdale. This was by far my favorite highlight of the trip, the chef and his team brought out all the stops for us. I’m a pretty basic sushi eater, you know the lame California roll type of girl  but did things change for me at this dinner table my friends. I’m always up for trying anything new and  I have to say, I didn’t have one thing I didn’t like, this sushi was out of this world. Pretty much like, I want to catch a flight and go back for dinner tonight. Anyway, I highly recommend Sushi Roku for sure!
After a early travel morning and a full day of actives we decided to skip the bar hoping for the cozy robes and king sizes beds instead, #thisis30something for ya! Ha!
The next morning we enjoyed a personal training session with celebrity trainer Lucas James. For me to actually workout on vacation or at 8 am or at all is a miracle, but I showed up with my bells and whistles on. Luckily, Lucas took it easy on us ladies but I definelty felt the burn so I would call it a win! Plus, you know I rewarded myself with an extra order of room service bacon 🙂
Another full day of exploring, this time we were riding on a golf cart in style! It was a nice way to beat the heat! A few stops on our list were the Soleri Bridge, Scottsdale Waterfront, Cartel Coffee Lab, Super Chunk Sweets & Treats, ChopShop and a quick walk through at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.
We had the most delicious lunch at The Mission, margs + table-side guac + chicken tacos…girl, SO so good!

The W Scottsdale is a great location, walking distance to the entermaint district. So many great bars, restaurants and shops. The perfect location for Bachelor/Bachelorette parties + a fun scene for baseball’s Spring Training season.
For dinner we headed to Diego Pops for more tacos and margaritas, if this is Scottsdale life then I’m sold! Diego Pops is  made for the perfect IG pic, I mean pineapple wallpaper and snow cone margaritas…add this stop to your list!

Scottsdale is known mostly for their heavy influence in art, fitness and wellness. One well rounded place let me tell you! It was a wonderful weekend away and I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more of what Scottsdale has to offer.
Thanks to experience Scottsdale and the W Scottsdale for complimentary experiences.

You have me wanting to visit Scottsdale now! Truthfully I adore Arizona, just the landscape and weather make me happy, but I haven’t been through the State in 7 years so I’m due for a visit! You and your friends are absolute #goals, BTW! xoRach | http://www.rkcsouthern.com
