I’m so excited to share our kitchen reveal with you! It’s truly been a labor of love for the past few months but we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
Let’s take a look at the “before” we started with…..the original layout from the 1950’s.
Now for the “after” look: Wow, is all I can say!
This kitchen couldn’t have been possible without a few key vendors. Provisions Contracting team and Quality Woodshop Inc helped us design the perfect cabinetry layout and maximize the functionality for our space. Sunrise Appliance team helped me source these stunning Cafe appliances, plus the seamless process of ordering and installation. Hudson Valley Lighting pulled the perfect white and gold accents together. Last but not certainly not least, Asso Stone, working with Aurelila to find the perfect compliment stone to complete the look for our space. Since our kitchen was majority white, we wanted to bring in a warmer contrast. While shopping around at the Daltile showroom, we instantly fell in love with this Taj Mahal quartzite stone in the leathered finish. The leathered finish adds a natural roughness to this space and I love the variety of grey, gold and white tones it pulls. The waterfall island was a focal point we knew we wanted to incorporate in our design and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
We wanted to also keep this space cohesive by using the same stone throughout our backsplash as well.
We absolutely loved working with the Asso team, they are experts in their field and helped to make this a seamless process from start to finish.
We are SO excited for all the memories to come in this kitchen with our growing family!
I wanted to share some frequently asked questions about counter tops so Aurellia the design expert from Asso Stone helped to answer those below!
1. What stone options do you guys carry?
Answer:
We carry the following stones:
Granite, Marble, Quartz, Quartzite, Soapstone, Butcher Block, Precious Gem Stone and Porcelain.
Natural:Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Soapstone, Butcher Block, Precious Gem Stone
Manufactured: Quartz and Porcelain
2. Do you guys have remnants for smaller projects?
Answer:
We do! We have a mixture of all the stones. We get new remnants in every day after each project is completed. I recommend if you have a smaller project such as a bar, bath, fireplace, table, or desk to come take a look at some of our options.
3. What is the difference between granite, marble, quartz, quartzite, soapstone, butcher block, precious gem stone and porcelain.
Answers:
Quartz is a man made product that does not require sealing.
I recommend this for people that enjoy cooking and want the “marble look” but not the maintenance.
Granite
Is our least expensive stone option it requires sealing once a year.
This I recommend for a more traditional look.
Marble&Quartzite
Both of these are my favorite stone options.
Even though they get a bad reputation of being high maintenance.
I always say if you take care of the stone and seal twice a year the stone lasts a long time.
Also when picking a marble I recommend going with a hard marble rather than a soft one.
(Soft ones are great for powder rooms not kitchens)
Quartzite is the hardest stone we offer. Very durable and you get a crystallized finish unlike quartz. For a timeless kitchen these are the best stone selections in my opinion.
Soapstone
I always say if you want something different this is it!
This is a soft material. It scratches and dings easily. Which can be buffed out.
With this material you can spill wine or lemon juice. It is resistant against acids.
Most soapstone will be a very dark grey or black.
Butcher Block:
I always tell my clients not to fully do butcher block on kitchen counter-tops.
Due to you have to seal 4-5 times a year depending on the usage.
An island or bar area is my recommendation.
Unless you truly love the look.
Precious Gem Stone:
This is for someone that wants an exotic and one of a kind project.
The finished product is unlike any other project.
Always different and beautiful.
Porcelain:
Is becoming more popular in America it has been used for years in Europe.
They are always ahead of the game when it comes to design trends.
We carry a few brands of it in our showroom. The most popular one is Dekton.
This material is very durable and heat resistant.
4. What edge options do you guys offer?
We offer many edge profiles.
Our Level A are standard:
No additional cost to these such as:
Flat/Eased, 1/4 bevel, 1/8 bevel, 3/4 bevel, 1/8 round, 1/4 round and half bull-nose.
We also offer custom edges those are charged per linear ft.
Such as waterfall, miter, full bull-nose and ogee.
5. How does a consultation work? Do I need an appointment? I don’t know my dimensions?
Consultations take 30 minutes to an hour. (Sometimes even longer)
You can come in and tell us about your project.
Then we start looking at stone options that best suit your needs.

So beautiful. What color white did you use for the cabinets and the walls? It looks so good with your appliances.
